Cajun Shrimp Pasta
A creamy and spicy pasta dish featuring succulent shrimp and vibrant bell peppers, all tossed in a rich Cajun-spiced sauce.
Ingredients
- 12 oz linguine
- 1 lb shrimp
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp dried thyme
- ½ tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 clove garlic
- 1 red bell pepper
- 1 green bell pepper
- 1½ cup heavy cream
- ½ cup chicken broth
- ½ cup Parmesan cheese (optional)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley (optional)
Steps
- Cook linguine according to package directions; drain and set aside.
- In a bowl, toss shrimp with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, oregano, thyme, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.
- Add minced garlic, red bell pepper, and green bell pepper to the same skillet. Sauté for 3-5 minutes until softened.
- Stir in heavy cream and chicken broth, bringing the mixture to a simmer. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens.
- Return shrimp to the skillet with the sauce. Add the cooked linguine and toss to combine.
