Ingredients

  • 1 lb pizza dough
  • 1½ cup ricotta cheese
  • 1½ cup mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup marinara sauce (optional)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). In a medium bowl, combine ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  2. Divide pizza dough into 4 equal portions. On a lightly floured surface, roll each portion into an 8-inch circle.
  3. Spoon about 1/4 of the cheese mixture onto one half of each dough circle, leaving a 1-inch border.
  4. Fold the other half of the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Crimp the edges tightly to seal, or use a fork.
  5. Place calzones on a baking sheet. Brush tops with olive oil.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed. Serve hot, with marinara sauce for dipping if desired.
