Italian Meatloaf

Ingredients

  • 1½ lb ground beef
  • ½ lb Italian sausage
  • ½ cup onion
  • 2 clove garlic
  • ¾ cup breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Finely chop the onion and mince the garlic.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, Italian sausage, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, milk, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  3. Form the meat mixture into a loaf shape and place it in a baking dish or on a foil-lined baking sheet.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together ketchup, brown sugar, and Dijon mustard for the glaze.
  5. Spread the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
  6. Bake for 60-75 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  7. Remove from oven and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
