Milanesa
Crispy, golden-fried beef cutlets, seasoned and breaded, a beloved comfort food in Argentina.
Ingredients
- 4 beef cutlets
- 2 eggs
- 200 g breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley
- 2 clove garlic
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 4 lemon wedges (optional)
Steps
- Pat beef cutlets dry and season generously with salt and pepper.
- In a shallow dish, whisk eggs. In another shallow dish, combine breadcrumbs, chopped parsley, and minced garlic.
- Dip each seasoned cutlet first into the beaten egg, ensuring it's fully coated, then press into the breadcrumb mixture until evenly covered.
- Heat about 1/2 inch of oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Carefully place the breaded cutlets into the hot oil, frying for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove milanesas from the skillet and place on a wire rack or paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Serve hot, optionally with fresh lemon wedges.
