Ingredients

  • 1½ lb pork shoulder
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 4 clove garlic
  • 1 tbsp ginger
  • 2 tbsp gochujang (optional)
  • ½ onion
  • 2 green onions (optional)
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • 2 cup rice

Steps

  1. Thinly slice the pork shoulder against the grain into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and gochujang (if using) to create the marinade. Add the pork and sliced onion, mix well, and marinate for at least 20 minutes.
  3. Cook rice according to package directions.
  4. Heat cooking oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated pork and onions, spreading it in a single layer.
  5. Stir-fry for 7-10 minutes, breaking up any clumps, until the pork is cooked through and slightly caramelized.
  6. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, if desired. Serve immediately with the cooked rice.
