Prosciutto and Arugula Pizza
A sophisticated pizza featuring a crispy crust topped with savory prosciutto, fresh peppery arugula, and creamy mozzarella.
Ingredients
- 1 lb pizza dough
- ½ cup crushed tomatoes
- 8 oz fresh mozzarella
- 4 oz prosciutto
- 4 cup arugula
- ¼ cup Parmesan cheese (optional)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp dried oregano
- ¼ tsp salt
- ⅛ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
Steps
- Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to preheat.
- On a lightly floured surface, stretch or roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness.
- In a small bowl, combine crushed tomatoes, 1 tablespoon olive oil, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Spread the sauce evenly over the pizza dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
- Tear fresh mozzarella into small pieces and distribute them over the sauce.
- Carefully transfer the pizza to the preheated oven or pizza stone. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
- Remove the pizza from the oven. Immediately drape the prosciutto slices over the hot pizza, then scatter the fresh arugula on top. Drizzle with the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
- Slice and serve hot, optionally garnished with grated Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes.
