Ham and Cheese Quiche
A classic savory quiche featuring a rich custard filling with diced ham and shredded cheese, baked in a flaky pie crust.
Ingredients
- 1 pie crust
- 6 oz diced ham
- 1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
- 3 large eggs
- 1½ cup heavy cream
- ½ cup milk
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ⅛ tsp nutmeg
- 2 tbsp chives (optional)
Steps
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Press the pie crust into a 9-inch pie plate.
- Scatter the diced ham and shredded Gruyere cheese evenly over the bottom of the pie crust.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, milk, Dijon mustard, salt, pepper, and nutmeg until well combined.
- Carefully pour the egg mixture over the ham and cheese in the pie crust.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the center is set and a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.
- Let the quiche cool for at least 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving. Garnish with fresh chives, if desired.
