Ham and Cheese Quiche

A classic savory quiche featuring a rich custard filling with diced ham and shredded cheese, baked in a flaky pie crust.

Ingredients

  • 1 pie crust
  • 6 oz diced ham
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ⅛ tsp nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp chives (optional)

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Press the pie crust into a 9-inch pie plate.
  2. Scatter the diced ham and shredded Gruyere cheese evenly over the bottom of the pie crust.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, milk, Dijon mustard, salt, pepper, and nutmeg until well combined.
  4. Carefully pour the egg mixture over the ham and cheese in the pie crust.
  5. Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the center is set and a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.
  6. Let the quiche cool for at least 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving. Garnish with fresh chives, if desired.
