Jajek (Yogurt and Cucumber Salad)
A refreshing and simple Middle Eastern yogurt and cucumber salad, perfect as a side dish or a cooling dip.
Ingredients
- 2 cup plain yogurt
- 1 cup cold water
- 1 clove garlic
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp dried mint
- 1 cucumber
- 4 ice cubes (optional)
Steps
- Peel and crush the garlic clove.
- In a food processor, combine yogurt, cold water, crushed garlic, and salt. Process for a few seconds until smooth.
- Transfer the yogurt mixture to a bowl.
- Dice the cucumber into small pieces.
- Stir the dried mint and diced cucumber into the yogurt mixture.
- Chill the jajek for a few hours before serving for best flavor.
