Mediterranean Pasta Salad

Ingredients

  • 350 g farfalle pasta
  • 200 g mozzarella balls
  • 250 g baby plum tomatoes
  • 1 bunch fresh basil
  • 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 40 g green olives
  • 200 g tuna in oil, drained
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper

Steps

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the farfalle and cook according to package directions, about 10 minutes, until al dente.
  2. While pasta cooks, quarter the tomatoes, slice the olives, and tear the basil leaves.
  3. In a large salad bowl, combine the quartered tomatoes and torn basil. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and mix gently.
  4. Drain the cooked pasta and rinse with cold water to cool quickly. Add the cooled pasta to the salad bowl with the tomatoes and basil.
  5. Stir in the sliced olives, drained mozzarella balls, and flaked tuna. Mix everything well to combine.
  6. Let the salad rest for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Just before serving, season with salt and pepper to taste and drizzle with the remaining olive oil.
