Shrimp Lo Mein

A classic Chinese-American stir-fry featuring tender shrimp and noodles tossed in a savory sauce with crisp vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz Lo Mein noodles
  • 1 lb Shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • ½ cup Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp Sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 3 clove Garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Ginger, grated
  • 1 cup Carrots, julienned
  • 1 cup Celery, sliced
  • 2 cups Cabbage, shredded
  • ½ cup Green onions, sliced (optional)
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil

Steps

  1. Cook lo mein noodles according to package directions, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, and sugar to create the sauce.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  4. Add garlic and ginger to the same skillet and stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add carrots, celery, and cabbage to the skillet and stir-fry for 3-5 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.
  6. Return cooked shrimp and noodles to the skillet. Pour in the prepared sauce and toss everything together until well coated and heated through.
  7. Garnish with sliced green onions, if desired, and serve immediately.
