Shrimp Lo Mein
A classic Chinese-American stir-fry featuring tender shrimp and noodles tossed in a savory sauce with crisp vegetables.
Ingredients
- 12 oz Lo Mein noodles
- 1 lb Shrimp, peeled and deveined
- ½ cup Soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp Sesame oil
- 1 tbsp Cornstarch
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 3 clove Garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp Ginger, grated
- 1 cup Carrots, julienned
- 1 cup Celery, sliced
- 2 cups Cabbage, shredded
- ½ cup Green onions, sliced (optional)
- 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
Steps
- Cook lo mein noodles according to package directions, then drain and set aside.
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, and sugar to create the sauce.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside.
- Add garlic and ginger to the same skillet and stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add carrots, celery, and cabbage to the skillet and stir-fry for 3-5 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.
- Return cooked shrimp and noodles to the skillet. Pour in the prepared sauce and toss everything together until well coated and heated through.
- Garnish with sliced green onions, if desired, and serve immediately.
