Ingredients

  • 1½ lb ground beef
  • ½ cup bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • ½ onion
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (optional)
  • 8 oz cooked egg noodles (optional)

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, finely minced onion, milk, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined, then form into 1-inch meatballs.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and flour until smooth. Pour this mixture into the slow cooker.
  3. Carefully add the meatballs to the slow cooker, ensuring they are mostly submerged in the sauce. Cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, until meatballs are cooked through.
  4. Stir in the heavy cream during the last 30 minutes of cooking. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
  5. Serve the Swedish meatballs hot over cooked egg noodles, if desired, and garnish with fresh parsley.
