Stuffed Shells
Classic Italian comfort food featuring jumbo pasta shells generously filled with a creamy ricotta mixture, baked in marinara sauce until bubbly and golden.
Ingredients
- 20 jumbo pasta shells
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 2 cup mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup fresh parsley
- 2 clove garlic
- 24 oz marinara sauce
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
Steps
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook pasta shells according to package directions until al dente; drain and rinse with cold water to prevent sticking.
- In a large bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1 cup mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, egg, chopped parsley, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Spread about 1 cup of marinara sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Carefully stuff each cooked shell with the ricotta mixture and arrange them in a single layer in the prepared baking dish.
- Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the stuffed shells, ensuring they are mostly covered.
- Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of mozzarella cheese over the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the sauce is heated through.
- Let stand for a few minutes before serving.
