Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 0.9 lb beef sirloin
  • 1 red chili
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • ½ cup fresh basil leaves
  • 4 cups cooked rice (optional)

Steps

  1. Heat a wok or large frying pan over high heat until smoking hot.
  2. Add vegetable oil, swirl to coat, then add sliced beef and red chili.
  3. Stir-fry constantly for about 3 minutes until the beef is lightly browned.
  4. Pour in the oyster sauce and continue to cook, stirring, until the sauce coats the meat and is heated through.
  5. Stir in the fresh basil leaves until just wilted.
  6. Serve immediately, ideally with plain rice.
