Air Fryer Patatas Bravas
Crispy air-fried potatoes are smothered in a rich, smoky tomato sauce for a classic Spanish tapa experience.
Ingredients
- 2 lb potatoes
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 8 oz canned chopped tomatoes
- ¼ cup basil leaves (optional)
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
Steps
- Soak potatoes in just-boiled water for 30 minutes, then drain and air-dry for 5 minutes. Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Toss potatoes with 1 tablespoon olive oil, salt, and pepper. Place in the air fryer basket and cook for 20-30 minutes until crisp and golden.
- Meanwhile, heat remaining 2 tablespoons olive oil in a small pan over medium-low heat. Sauté onion for 8-10 minutes until softened.
- Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute, then add paprika and cook for 30 seconds more.
- Stir in tomato paste and cook for 1 minute, then add chopped tomatoes. Simmer for 5-10 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Once potatoes are cooked, transfer to a platter. Pour the tomato sauce over the potatoes.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves, if desired, and serve immediately.
