Beef Stir-fry with Teriyaki Sauce
A classic beef stir-fry featuring tender strips of beef and crisp vegetables coated in a savory teriyaki sauce, perfect for a quick weeknight meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb flank steak
- 4 cup broccoli florets
- 2 carrots
- 1 bell pepper
- ½ yellow onion
- 3 clove garlic
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger
- ¾ cup teriyaki sauce
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)
- 4 cup cooked white rice (optional)
Steps
- Slice flank steak against the grain into thin strips. In a bowl, toss beef with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce and cornstarch.
- Chop broccoli into florets, slice carrots into thin rounds, bell pepper into strips, and onion into wedges. Mince garlic and grate ginger.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add beef and stir-fry until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove beef from skillet and set aside.
- Add remaining 1 tablespoon of oil to the skillet. Add broccoli, carrots, bell pepper, and onion, stir-fry for 5-7 minutes until vegetables are crisp-tender. Add garlic and ginger and stir-fry for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Return beef to the skillet. Pour in teriyaki sauce and remaining 1 tablespoon of soy sauce. Stir to coat everything and heat through, about 2 minutes.
- Serve immediately over cooked white rice, if desired, and garnish with sesame seeds, if using.
