Beef Yakisoba
A classic Japanese stir-fried noodle dish featuring tender beef, crisp vegetables, and savory yakisoba sauce.
Ingredients
- 16 oz yakisoba noodles
- 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak
- ½ head cabbage
- 2 carrot
- 1 yellow onion
- 3 green onions (optional)
- ¾ cup yakisoba sauce
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp ginger
- 2 clove garlic
- 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)
Steps
- Prepare the yakisoba noodles according to package directions, then drain and set aside.
- Slice the beef thinly against the grain. Cut cabbage into thin strips, julienne carrots, and thinly slice the yellow onion. Mince garlic and ginger.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add beef and stir-fry until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove beef and set aside.
- Add remaining 1 tablespoon of oil to the same skillet. Add yellow onion, carrots, garlic, and ginger, stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until fragrant and slightly softened.
- Add cabbage to the skillet and continue to stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until tender-crisp.
- Return the cooked beef to the skillet. Add the prepared yakisoba noodles and pour in the yakisoba sauce. Toss everything together until well combined and heated through.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, if desired, and serve immediately.
