Chicken Fajitas
Sizzling strips of chicken and colorful bell peppers are seasoned and seared to perfection, creating a vibrant and flavorful Mexican-inspired dish.
Ingredients
- 1½ lb chicken breast
- 3 bell peppers
- 1 onion
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 1 lime (optional)
- 8 flour tortillas (optional)
- ½ cup salsa (optional)
- ½ cup sour cream (optional)
Steps
- Slice chicken breasts, bell peppers, and onion into thin strips.
- In a small bowl, combine chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper to make the fajita seasoning.
- Toss chicken strips with half of the seasoning and 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
- Heat remaining olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove chicken from skillet.
- Add bell pepper and onion strips to the same skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, until tender-crisp, about 5-7 minutes.
- Return chicken to the skillet with the vegetables. Add remaining fajita seasoning and toss to combine, cooking for another 1-2 minutes.
- Serve hot with warm tortillas, a squeeze of fresh lime juice, salsa, and sour cream, if desired.
