Chicken Tacos
Flavorful shredded chicken seasoned with classic taco spices, served in warm tortillas with your favorite fresh toppings.
Ingredients
- 1½ lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 12 corn tortillas
- 1 lime (optional)
- ½ red onion (optional)
- ¼ cup cilantro (optional)
- 1 avocado (optional)
- ½ cup salsa (optional)
Steps
- Combine chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl to make the taco seasoning.
- Place chicken breasts in a large pot or deep skillet. Pour in chicken broth and sprinkle with the taco seasoning. Bring to a simmer over medium-high heat, then reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through and easily shredded.
- Remove chicken from the pot and shred using two forks. Return the shredded chicken to the pot with the remaining liquid and stir to coat.
- Warm tortillas according to package directions (microwave, oven, or skillet).
- Serve the shredded chicken in warm tortillas with your desired toppings like diced red onion, cilantro, avocado, lime wedges, or salsa.
