Garlic Butter Shrimp Pasta
A quick and satisfying pasta dish featuring succulent shrimp bathed in a rich garlic butter sauce, perfect for a weeknight meal.
Ingredients
- 12 oz linguine
- 1 lb shrimp
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 6 clove garlic
- ½ cup dry white wine (optional)
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- ¼ cup fresh parsley
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Steps
- Cook linguine according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain.
- While pasta cooks, pat shrimp dry and season with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet, melt butter with olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using), cooking for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and opaque.
- Stir in white wine (if using) and lemon juice, bringing to a simmer.
- Add cooked linguine to the skillet, tossing to coat. If needed, add a splash of reserved pasta water to create a silky sauce.
- Stir in fresh chopped parsley and serve immediately.
