Ingredients

  • 1½ lb ground beef
  • ½ cup onion
  • 2 clove garlic
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley
  • 2 tbsp fresh mint
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup bread crumbs
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 lemon wedges (optional)

Steps

  1. Finely chop the onion, mince the garlic, and finely chop the fresh parsley and mint.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, mint, egg, bread crumbs, salt, pepper, and oregano. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  3. Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1-inch in diameter.
  4. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the meatballs in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan.
  5. Cook the meatballs, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes per batch.
  6. Remove cooked meatballs from the skillet and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
  7. Serve hot, optionally with fresh lemon wedges for squeezing.
