Ground Turkey Lettuce Wraps
Light and flavorful ground turkey stir-fried with Asian-inspired sauces, served in crisp lettuce cups for a healthy and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 head butter lettuce
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1 tbsp ginger
- 8 oz water chestnuts
- 4 scallions
- 4 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- ½ tsp sriracha (optional)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)
Steps
- Wash and separate lettuce leaves; set aside. Mince garlic and ginger. Drain and finely dice water chestnuts. Slice scallions, separating white and green parts.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add ground turkey and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Add minced garlic, ginger, and white parts of scallions to the skillet. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and sriracha (if using). Add diced water chestnuts and cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
- Remove from heat and stir in the green parts of the scallions.
- Spoon the turkey mixture into the prepared lettuce cups. Garnish with sesame seeds if desired.
- Serve immediately.
