⏱ 30 min🍽 Serves 4Japaneseothereasy

Ingredients

  • 20 count Frozen pork gyoza
  • 1½ cup White rice
  • 3 cup Water
  • ½ cup Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp Sesame oil
  • 2 stalks Green onions (optional)
  • 1 tsp Toasted sesame seeds (optional)
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil

Steps

  1. Cook rice according to package directions. Typically, combine 1.5 cups rice with 3 cups water in a pot, bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until water is absorbed.
  2. While rice cooks, prepare the dipping sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Slice green onions if using.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Add frozen gyoza in a single layer, flat side down.
  4. Cook gyoza for 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown and crispy.
  5. Carefully add 1/2 cup water to the skillet, immediately cover with a lid, and steam for 5-7 minutes, or until the gyoza are cooked through and the water has evaporated.
  6. Remove lid and continue to cook for another 1-2 minutes if needed, to re-crisp the bottoms.
  7. Serve the cooked gyoza immediately with the prepared rice and dipping sauce. Garnish with sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds if desired.
