Kielbasa and Cabbage
A hearty and comforting one-pan meal featuring smoky kielbasa sausage and tender sautéed cabbage.
Ingredients
- 1½ lb Smoked Kielbasa Sausage
- 1½ head Green Cabbage
- 1 Yellow Onion
- 3 clove Garlic
- 2 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil
- ¾ tsp Salt
- ½ tsp Black Pepper
- 2 tbsp Fresh Parsley (optional)
Steps
- Slice the kielbasa into 1/2-inch thick rounds. Halve and core the cabbage, then chop into 1-inch pieces. Dice the onion and mince the garlic.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add the kielbasa and cook until browned and slightly crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove kielbasa and set aside, leaving rendered fat in the pan.
- Add the diced onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage wilts and softens, about 8-12 minutes.
- Stir in the apple cider vinegar and return the cooked kielbasa to the skillet. Toss to combine and heat through for 2-3 minutes.
- Taste and adjust seasonings if needed. Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired, before serving.
