Mahi-Mahi Fish Tacos
Flaky mahi-mahi seasoned and seared, served in warm tortillas with crisp cabbage slaw and a zesty lime crema.
Ingredients
- 1½ lb Mahi-Mahi fillets
- 12 Corn tortillas
- ½ head Red cabbage
- 2 Lime
- ½ cup Mayonnaise
- ¼ cup Sour cream
- 1 tbsp Chili powder
- ½ tsp Cumin
- ½ tsp Garlic powder
- ½ tsp Salt
- ¼ tsp Black pepper
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- ¼ cup Cilantro (optional)
- 1 Avocado (optional)
Steps
- Pat mahi-mahi fillets dry and cut into 1-inch wide strips. In a small bowl, combine chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Sprinkle seasoning evenly over the fish.
- Thinly slice the red cabbage. In a separate small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, and the juice of one lime to make the lime crema.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned mahi-mahi and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until opaque and flaky.
- While fish cooks, warm the corn tortillas according to package directions, either in a dry skillet, microwave, or oven.
- Assemble tacos by placing a portion of cooked mahi-mahi in each warm tortilla. Top with shredded red cabbage and a drizzle of lime crema.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and sliced avocado, if desired.
