Miso Glazed Salmon
Flaky salmon fillets are coated in a savory-sweet miso glaze and baked to perfection for a quick and elegant meal.
Ingredients
- 1½ lb salmon fillets
- 4 tbsp white miso paste
- 2 tbsp mirin
- 2 tbsp sake (cooking wine)
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp ginger, grated
- 2 clove garlic, minced
- 2 green onions, sliced (optional)
- 1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
Steps
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, whisk together miso paste, mirin, sake, sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, grated ginger, and minced garlic to create the glaze.
- Place salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet. Brush about half of the miso glaze generously over the salmon.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. For extra caramelization, broil for the last 1-2 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
- Serve immediately, garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
