Nachos Supreme
Loaded with seasoned ground beef, melted cheese, and fresh toppings, these Nachos Supreme are a crowd-pleasing classic perfect for sharing.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 10 oz tortilla chips
- 2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 2 tbsp taco seasoning
- ¼ cup water
- 2 Roma tomatoes
- ½ red onion
- 1 jalapeño (optional)
- ½ cup black olives, sliced (optional)
- ½ cup sour cream (optional)
- ½ cup salsa (optional)
- 1 avocado (optional)
- ¼ cup fresh cilantro (optional)
Steps
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in taco seasoning and water with the ground beef. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes, or until liquid has mostly evaporated.
- Spread half of the tortilla chips on a large oven-safe platter or baking sheet. Sprinkle with half of the cooked beef and half of the shredded cheeses.
- Add the remaining tortilla chips, then top with the rest of the beef and cheeses.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- While nachos bake, dice tomatoes and red onion. Slice jalapeño and avocado, if using.
- Remove nachos from oven and top with diced tomatoes, red onion, sliced jalapeños, and black olives (if using).
- Serve immediately with sour cream, salsa, guacamole (mashed avocado), and fresh cilantro, if desired.
