Prosciutto Wrapped Chicken
Elegant chicken breasts wrapped in savory prosciutto and baked to perfection.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 8 prosciutto slices
- 4 oz fresh mozzarella (optional)
- ¼ cup fresh basil leaves (optional)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 tbsp balsamic glaze (optional)
Steps
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Pat chicken breasts dry. Season each breast with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- If using, make a slit in the side of each chicken breast and stuff with mozzarella and basil.
- Wrap each seasoned chicken breast with two slices of prosciutto, ensuring it's fully covered.
- Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the wrapped chicken breasts for 2-3 minutes per side until prosciutto is slightly crispy.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Remove from oven, let rest for 5 minutes, then drizzle with balsamic glaze if desired before serving.
