Ingredients

  • 1½ lb flank steak
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger
  • 3 clove garlic
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)
  • 2 green onions (optional)
  • 3 cup cooked white rice (optional)

Steps

  1. Slice the flank steak against the grain into thin strips.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, grated ginger, and minced garlic to create the sauce.
  3. In a separate small bowl, dissolve cornstarch in water to make a slurry.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add beef strips and cook until browned on all sides, about 3-5 minutes. Remove beef from the skillet and set aside.
  5. Pour the prepared sauce into the hot skillet and bring to a simmer. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook until the sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes.
  6. Return the cooked beef to the skillet, tossing to coat evenly with the thickened sauce.
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions, if desired. Serve immediately over cooked white rice.
