Shrimp Tacos
Quick and flavorful shrimp tacos, perfect for a weeknight meal, featuring seasoned shrimp, fresh cabbage, and a zesty lime crema.
Ingredients
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 8 corn tortillas
- ½ head red cabbage
- 2 lime
- 1 avocado (optional)
- ¼ cup cilantro (optional)
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp chili powder
- ½ tsp cumin
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Steps
- Thinly slice the red cabbage and set aside. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, juice from 1 lime, garlic powder, salt, and pepper for the lime crema. Set aside.
- In a medium bowl, toss shrimp with chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until pink and opaque.
- Warm tortillas according to package directions. You can microwave them, heat them in a dry skillet, or wrap in foil and bake.
- Assemble tacos: place a spoonful of cabbage on each tortilla, top with cooked shrimp, a drizzle of lime crema, and optional avocado and cilantro.
- Serve immediately with extra lime wedges.
