Steak Burrito
A hearty and satisfying burrito packed with seasoned steak, rice, beans, and your favorite toppings.
Ingredients
- 1½ lb flank steak
- 4 flour tortillas
- 2 cup cooked rice
- 15 oz canned black beans
- ½ red onion
- ¼ cup cilantro
- 1 lime
- 1 avocado (optional)
- ½ cup salsa (optional)
- ½ cup sour cream (optional)
- 1 cup cheddar cheese (optional)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
Steps
- Pat the flank steak dry and season generously with chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak for 3-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove from skillet, tent with foil, and let rest for 5-10 minutes before thinly slicing against the grain.
- While the steak rests, warm the black beans in the same skillet or a microwave. Warm tortillas according to package directions.
- Dice the red onion and chop the cilantro. Mash the avocado, if using, and squeeze lime juice over it.
- Assemble burritos: Lay out each tortilla and layer with cooked rice, black beans, sliced steak, red onion, cilantro, and any optional toppings like avocado, salsa, sour cream, or cheese.
- Fold in the sides of the tortilla, then roll up tightly from the bottom to create a sealed burrito.
