Steak Fajitas
Sizzling steak fajitas featuring tender strips of beef and colorful bell peppers, perfect for a lively weeknight meal.
Ingredients
- 1½ lb skirt steak
- 3 bell peppers
- 1 onion
- 1 lime
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp oregano
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 8 flour tortillas
- ½ cup salsa (optional)
- ½ cup sour cream (optional)
- 1 avocado (optional)
Steps
- Slice skirt steak against the grain into thin strips. Slice bell peppers and onion into thin strips.
- In a bowl, combine garlic powder, chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Toss steak strips with half of the seasoning mix.
- Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add seasoned steak and cook for 3-5 minutes until browned and cooked to your liking. Remove steak from skillet and set aside.
- Add remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil to the skillet. Add bell peppers and onion, and cook for 5-7 minutes until tender-crisp. Stir in the remaining seasoning mix.
- Return steak to the skillet with the vegetables. Squeeze fresh lime juice over the mixture and toss to combine.
- Warm tortillas according to package directions.
- Serve steak and vegetable mixture immediately with warm tortillas and desired toppings like salsa, sour cream, or sliced avocado.
