Turkey Bánh mì
A delightful Vietnamese sandwich featuring savory turkey, rich chicken liver pâté, and a vibrant pickled slaw, all nestled in a crusty baguette.
Ingredients
- 4 baguette
- 200 g chicken liver
- 1 cucumber
- 560 g turkey
- 4 tbsp mayonnaise
- 4 red chili
- ½ cup mint (optional)
- 8 small carrots
- 300 g red cabbage
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 2 tsp granulated sugar
- ½ tsp salt
Steps
- Thinly slice carrots and red cabbage. Combine them in a large bowl.
- In a small bowl, whisk together ground ginger, rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Pour over the vegetables and toss well. Let it pickle for at least 15 minutes.
- Halve the baguettes lengthwise. Spread chicken liver pâté on the bottom half of each baguette.
- Layer the pickled slaw, sliced cucumber, and turkey over the pâté.
- Chop one red chili and mix it with mayonnaise. Dollop this spicy mayonnaise over the turkey.
- Scatter fresh mint leaves and additional sliced red chili (optional) on top.
- Close the baguettes to form sandwiches and serve immediately.
