Vegan Chocolate Cake
A rich and moist vegan chocolate cake, perfect for a dairy-free and egg-free treat.
Ingredients
- 1¼ cup self-rising flour
- ½ cup coconut sugar
- ⅓ cup raw cacao powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 2 flax eggs
- ½ cup almond milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup boiling water
- 2 oz vegan chocolate (optional)
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and flour a small cake pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the self-rising flour, coconut sugar, raw cacao powder, and baking powder.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flax eggs, almond milk, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Carefully stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 45 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
