American Goulash
A comforting one-pot meal featuring ground beef, macaroni, and a rich tomato sauce, perfect for a hearty family dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 8 oz elbow macaroni
- 14½ oz diced tomatoes
- 15 oz tomato sauce
- 2 cup beef broth
- 1 onion
- 2 clove garlic
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
- ½ cup cheddar cheese, shredded (optional)
Steps
- Heat olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add ground beef to the pot and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in minced garlic, salt, and pepper; cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce (if using). Bring to a simmer.
- Add elbow macaroni, stir well, and cover the pot. Reduce heat to low and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until macaroni is tender, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Remove from heat and let stand for 5 minutes. If desired, stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
- Serve hot and enjoy your hearty American Goulash.
