Baked Chicken Nuggets
Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, these baked chicken nuggets are a healthier take on a kid-friendly classic.
Ingredients
- 1½ lb boneless, skinless chicken breast
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 egg
- 1½ cup plain breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp paprika
- ¾ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 1 cooking spray
Steps
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spray lightly with cooking spray.
- Cut chicken breasts into 1-inch pieces.
- Set up a breading station: one shallow dish with flour, one with whisked eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Dredge each chicken piece in flour, shaking off excess, then dip in egg, and finally coat thoroughly in the seasoned breadcrumbs.
- Place coated chicken pieces in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Spray the tops of the nuggets lightly with cooking spray.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F/74°C).
