Baked Ham with Pineapple Glaze
A classic holiday ham, baked to perfection with a sweet and tangy pineapple glaze.
Ingredients
- 4 lb pre-cooked bone-in ham
- 20 oz pineapple rings in juice
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp whole cloves (optional)
- 10 maraschino cherries (optional)
Steps
- Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Place ham in a roasting pan with 1/2 cup of pineapple juice from the can.
- Score the ham in a diamond pattern, about 1/4 inch deep. If desired, insert a whole clove into the center of each diamond.
- In a small bowl, whisk together brown sugar and Dijon mustard with 1/4 cup of pineapple juice to create the glaze.
- Bake the ham for 1.5-2 hours, or according to package directions, basting every 20-30 minutes with the glaze.
- During the last 30 minutes of baking, arrange pineapple rings on the ham, securing with toothpicks if needed, and place a maraschino cherry in the center of each pineapple ring.
- Continue baking, basting occasionally, until the ham is heated through and the glaze is caramelized.
- Remove from oven, tent with foil, and let rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing and serving.
