Baked Ham with Pineapple Glaze

Ingredients

  • 4 lb pre-cooked bone-in ham
  • 20 oz pineapple rings in juice
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp whole cloves (optional)
  • 10 maraschino cherries (optional)

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Place ham in a roasting pan with 1/2 cup of pineapple juice from the can.
  2. Score the ham in a diamond pattern, about 1/4 inch deep. If desired, insert a whole clove into the center of each diamond.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together brown sugar and Dijon mustard with 1/4 cup of pineapple juice to create the glaze.
  4. Bake the ham for 1.5-2 hours, or according to package directions, basting every 20-30 minutes with the glaze.
  5. During the last 30 minutes of baking, arrange pineapple rings on the ham, securing with toothpicks if needed, and place a maraschino cherry in the center of each pineapple ring.
  6. Continue baking, basting occasionally, until the ham is heated through and the glaze is caramelized.
  7. Remove from oven, tent with foil, and let rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing and serving.
