Balsamic Glazed Chicken
Tender chicken breasts are pan-seared and then simmered in a rich, tangy balsamic glaze for a quick and elegant meal.
Ingredients
- 1½ lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- ¾ cup balsamic vinegar
- ½ cup chicken broth
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 clove garlic
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp cornstarch (optional)
- 1 tbsp water (optional)
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Steps
- Pat chicken breasts dry and season generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken for 4-6 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
- Add balsamic vinegar, chicken broth, honey, and minced garlic to the skillet. Bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer the sauce for 5-7 minutes, or until it has thickened slightly. For a thicker glaze, mix cornstarch with water in a small bowl and stir into the simmering sauce.
- Return chicken to the skillet, turning to coat in the balsamic glaze. Cook for another 1-2 minutes to heat through.
- Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired, and serve immediately.
