Ingredients

  • 1½ lb flank steak
  • 4 pita bread
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 clove garlic
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill
  • ½ red onion
  • 2 tomato
  • 2 cup romaine lettuce
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Steps

  1. Thinly slice the flank steak against the grain into strips. In a bowl, toss the beef with 1 tablespoon olive oil, oregano, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  2. Grate half the cucumber and finely mince 1 clove of garlic. In a small bowl, combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, lemon juice, and fresh dill to make the tzatziki sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned beef strips and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat.
  4. Thinly slice the remaining cucumber, red onion, and tomatoes. Shred the romaine lettuce.
  5. Warm the pita bread according to package instructions. Spread a generous amount of tzatziki sauce on each pita.
  6. Fill each pita with cooked beef, sliced cucumber, red onion, tomato, and romaine lettuce. Serve immediately.
