Lamb Tzatziki Burgers
Juicy lamb burgers seasoned with Mediterranean spices, served in a bun with refreshing homemade tzatziki sauce.
Ingredients
- 1⅛ lb ground lamb
- 0.9 oz bulgur wheat
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp cilantro
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 4 burger buns
- ½ cucumber
- 7 oz Greek yogurt
- 2 tbsp fresh mint
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 1 tomato slices (optional)
- ¼ red onion slices (optional)
Steps
- Boil bulgur wheat in water for 10 minutes, then drain thoroughly and press out excess water.
- Grate cucumber, squeeze out excess juice, then mix with Greek yogurt, chopped mint, and a pinch of salt to make the tzatziki.
- Combine ground lamb with bulgur, cumin, cilantro, paprika, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Form into 4 patties.
- Brush burgers with olive oil and cook in a pan or on a barbecue for about 5 minutes per side, until cooked through.
- Lightly toast burger buns if desired.
- Serve lamb burgers in buns with a generous dollop of tzatziki, and optional tomato and onion slices.
