Lamb Tzatziki Burgers

Juicy lamb burgers seasoned with Mediterranean spices, served in a bun with refreshing homemade tzatziki sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1⅛ lb ground lamb
  • 0.9 oz bulgur wheat
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp cilantro
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 burger buns
  • ½ cucumber
  • 7 oz Greek yogurt
  • 2 tbsp fresh mint
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tomato slices (optional)
  • ¼ red onion slices (optional)

Steps

  1. Boil bulgur wheat in water for 10 minutes, then drain thoroughly and press out excess water.
  2. Grate cucumber, squeeze out excess juice, then mix with Greek yogurt, chopped mint, and a pinch of salt to make the tzatziki.
  3. Combine ground lamb with bulgur, cumin, cilantro, paprika, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Form into 4 patties.
  4. Brush burgers with olive oil and cook in a pan or on a barbecue for about 5 minutes per side, until cooked through.
  5. Lightly toast burger buns if desired.
  6. Serve lamb burgers in buns with a generous dollop of tzatziki, and optional tomato and onion slices.
