Big Mac
Recreate the iconic fast-food burger at home with two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, and onions on a sesame seed bun.
Ingredients
- 400 g ground beef
- 2 tbs olive oil
- 4 sesame seed burger buns
- ½ onion
- ¼ iceberg lettuce
- 4 American cheese slices
- 2 dill pickles
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tsp white wine vinegar
- 1 pinch black pepper
- 2 tsp yellow mustard
- 1½ tsp onion salt
- 1½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp paprika
- 1 pinch salt
Steps
- Prepare the Big Mac sauce by combining mayonnaise, white wine vinegar, pepper, mustard, onion salt, garlic powder, and paprika in a bowl. Season with salt and chill.
- Divide ground beef into 8 equal portions. Season with salt and pepper, then flatten each into thin, 15cm patties.
- Heat olive oil in a large frypan over high heat. Cook patties in batches for 1-2 minutes per side until charred and cooked through. Keep warm.
- Slice each burger bun into three layers (top, middle, bottom) and lightly toast them.
- Assemble the burgers: Spread sauce on the bottom bun. Layer with chopped onion, shredded lettuce, a slice of cheese, a beef patty, and pickle slices.
- Place the middle bun layer on top, spread with more sauce, then add onion, lettuce, pickles, another beef patty, and more sauce.
- Finish with the top bun to complete the Big Mac and serve immediately.
