Ingredients

  • 1½ lb salmon fillets
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper
  • ½ tsp dried thyme
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Steps

  1. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels.
  2. In a small bowl, combine paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, thyme, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Generously rub the spice mixture all over the salmon fillets.
  4. Heat olive oil in a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until just smoking.
  5. Carefully place salmon, skin-side up, in the hot skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes until a dark crust forms.
  6. Flip the salmon and cook for another 3-5 minutes, or until cooked through and flaky.
  7. Remove from skillet and serve immediately.
