Cajun Spiced Fish Tacos
Flaky white fish seasoned with Cajun spices and cayenne, served in warm tortillas with fresh avocado, crisp lettuce, green onions, salsa, and a zesty sour cream dressing.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp cajun seasoning
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1½ lb white fish fillets
- 1 tsp vegetable oil
- 8 flour tortillas
- 1 avocado
- 2 little gem lettuce
- 4 green onions
- 1¼ cup salsa
- ¾ cup sour cream
- 1 lemon
- 1 clove garlic
- ½ tsp salt (optional)
- ¼ tsp black pepper (optional)
Steps
- Combine Cajun seasoning, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper on a plate. Coat fish fillets thoroughly with the spice mixture.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Add fish and cook for 3-5 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through. Cook in batches if necessary.
- While fish cooks, prepare the dressing: finely chop garlic and combine with sour cream and the juice of half a lemon. Season to taste.
- Warm tortillas in the microwave for 5-10 seconds or in a dry pan until soft.
- Slice avocado, shred lettuce, and thinly slice green onions.
- Assemble tacos: layer warm tortillas with shredded lettuce, avocado, and green onions. Top with flaked fish, a spoonful of salsa, and a drizzle of the sour cream dressing.
