Cevapi Sausages

Flavorful Croatian grilled sausages made from a blend of ground beef and pork, seasoned with onion, garlic, and paprika.

Ingredients

  • 1⅛ lb ground beef
  • 0.55 lb ground pork
  • 1 onion
  • 4 clove garlic
  • 3 tbsp fresh parsley
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • ¾ tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 3 tbsp water
  • 1 vegetable bouillon cube
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Steps

  1. Finely chop the onion and grate the garlic.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, chopped onion, grated garlic, parsley, paprika, baking powder, breadcrumbs, water, crumbled vegetable bouillon cube, salt, and pepper.
  3. Mix thoroughly by hand until all ingredients are well combined. Cover and refrigerate for 1-2 hours.
  4. Form the meat mixture into thumb-thick, 3-4 inch long sausage rolls (about 50-55g each).
  5. Preheat a grill pan or outdoor grill to medium-high heat.
  6. Grill the cevapi for 12-14 minutes, turning several times, until browned and cooked through.
  7. Serve hot with your preferred accompaniments.
