Chili Mac
A comforting and hearty one-pot meal combining savory chili with tender macaroni, perfect for a satisfying family dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion
- 2 clove garlic
- 14½ oz canned diced tomatoes
- 15 oz canned kidney beans
- 8 oz tomato sauce
- 2 cup beef broth
- 1½ cup macaroni pasta
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 1 cup cheddar cheese (optional)
Steps
- Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it apart. Drain any excess fat.
- Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 3-5 minutes.
- Stir in diced tomatoes, kidney beans, tomato sauce, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
- Add macaroni pasta to the skillet, stir well, and cover. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until pasta is tender, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- If desired, stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
- Serve hot, garnished with extra cheese if desired.
