Classic Salmon Patties
Quick and easy salmon patties, pan-fried to a golden crisp, are a comforting and budget-friendly meal.
Ingredients
- 14¾ oz canned salmon
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup Panko breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley (optional)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
Steps
- Drain the canned salmon well, remove any large bones or skin if desired, then flake it into a medium bowl.
- Add the egg, Panko breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and optional parsley to the salmon. Mix gently until just combined.
- Form the mixture into 4 equal patties, about 1-inch thick.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Carefully place the salmon patties in the hot skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and heated through.
- Remove patties from skillet and serve immediately, perhaps with a squeeze of fresh lemon or a side of tartar sauce.
