Seafood Boil
A festive and flavorful seafood boil featuring crab, shrimp, sausage, corn, and potatoes, all seasoned with a zesty Old Bay blend.
Ingredients
- 2 lb Dungeness crab clusters
- 1 lb Large shrimp, shell-on
- 12 oz Smoked sausage (e.g., Andouille)
- 1½ lb Baby red potatoes
- 4 Ears of corn
- 1 Yellow onion
- 6 clove Garlic
- ¼ cup Old Bay seasoning
- 2 Lemon
- ½ cup Unsalted butter (optional)
- ¼ cup Fresh parsley (optional)
- 1 tbsp Salt
- ½ tsp Black pepper
- 12 cup Water
Steps
- Chop potatoes into halves or quarters if large. Cut corn into 2-3 inch pieces. Slice sausage into 1-inch thick rounds. Roughly chop onion and mince garlic.
- In a very large stockpot, add water, chopped onion, minced garlic, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring to a rolling boil over high heat.
- Add potatoes to the boiling water, reduce heat to medium-high, and cook for 10-12 minutes until slightly tender.
- Add sausage and corn to the pot and continue to cook for another 5-7 minutes.
- Add crab clusters and shrimp to the pot. Cook for 3-5 minutes, or until shrimp are pink and opaque and crab is heated through.
- Carefully drain the cooking liquid. Serve the seafood boil immediately on a large platter or newspaper-covered table. Garnish with lemon wedges and fresh parsley, and serve with melted butter for dipping, if desired.
