Ezme
A vibrant and zesty Turkish dip, Ezme combines finely chopped fresh vegetables with a rich pomegranate and spice dressing, perfect as an appetizer or side.
Ingredients
- 3 medium tomato
- 1 medium Romano pepper
- 1 medium green chili
- 1 small onion
- 2 clove garlic
- ½ cup parsley
- 2 tbsp red pepper paste
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 tbsp pomegranate molasses
- 1 tbsp pul biber
- 2 tsp sumac
- 1 tbsp dried mint
- 4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp flaky sea salt
Steps
- Finely chop tomatoes, Romano pepper, and green chili in a food processor. Transfer to a sieve set over a bowl and let strain.
- Finely chop onion, garlic, and parsley in the food processor.
- In a serving bowl, whisk together red pepper paste, tomato paste, pomegranate molasses, pul biber, sumac, dried mint, and 3 tablespoons of olive oil to create a sauce.
- Add the strained pepper mixture, chopped onion mixture, and sea salt to the sauce. Stir well to combine.
- Drizzle with the remaining 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil before serving.
