Garlic Butter Cod
Flaky cod fillets baked to perfection in a rich garlic butter sauce, a simple yet elegant seafood dish.
Ingredients
- 1½ lb cod fillets
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 4 clove garlic
- ¼ cup fresh parsley (optional)
- 1 lemon
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
Steps
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Pat cod fillets dry with paper towels.
- Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Remove from heat.
- Place cod fillets in a single layer on a baking sheet. Season with salt and pepper.
- Pour the garlic butter evenly over the cod fillets.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cod is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
- Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the cooked cod and garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired.
