Garlic Chicken with Broccoli
A simple and savory dish featuring tender chicken and crisp broccoli florets tossed in a flavorful garlic sauce.
Ingredients
- 1½ lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1½ lb broccoli florets
- 6 clove garlic
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- ¼ cup chicken broth
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 3 cup cooked rice (optional)
Steps
- Cut chicken breasts into 1-inch pieces. Mince garlic. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, chicken broth, cornstarch, sesame oil, and brown sugar. Set aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
- Add remaining 1 tablespoon vegetable oil to the skillet. Add broccoli florets and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender-crisp. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Return chicken to the skillet with the broccoli. Stir the sauce mixture and pour it over the chicken and broccoli.
- Cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken and broccoli, about 2-3 minutes.
- Serve immediately, optionally over cooked rice.
