Ingredients

  • 1½ lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1½ lb broccoli florets
  • 6 clove garlic
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 3 cup cooked rice (optional)

Steps

  1. Cut chicken breasts into 1-inch pieces. Mince garlic. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, chicken broth, cornstarch, sesame oil, and brown sugar. Set aside.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
  3. Add remaining 1 tablespoon vegetable oil to the skillet. Add broccoli florets and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender-crisp. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Return chicken to the skillet with the broccoli. Stir the sauce mixture and pour it over the chicken and broccoli.
  5. Cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken and broccoli, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Serve immediately, optionally over cooked rice.
