Ingredients

  • 4 lb bone-in smoked ham
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp whole cloves (optional)
  • 4 pineapple rings (optional)
  • 4 maraschino cherries (optional)

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Score the ham in a diamond pattern, about 1/4 inch deep.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine brown sugar, Dijon mustard, honey, and apple cider vinegar. Cook over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves and mixture thickens slightly, about 5 minutes.
  3. Place the ham in a roasting pan. If desired, stud the ham with whole cloves and secure pineapple rings and cherries with toothpicks.
  4. Brush about half of the glaze over the ham. Roast for 1.5-2 hours, or until an internal temperature of 140°F (60°C) is reached, basting with remaining glaze every 15-20 minutes during the last hour of cooking.
  5. Remove ham from oven, tent loosely with foil, and let rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing and serving.
